TEETH WHITENING
Why In-office Whitening Is More Effective Than At-Home Whitening?
The reason is simple: in-office bleaching is done by a doctor, with the assistance of "sufficient equipment", so the whitening results achieved are "the best possible"!
The "secret" for teeth whitening to be most effective, is to isolate the teeth well, the drug must have a high concentration, and sufficient time to act on the teeth in a "controlled" and "safe" way as possible.
When you have bleaching at the dental clinic, the doctor will meet all of those requirements, so the results are certainly higher.
When you have self-bleaching at home, if the teeth are not isolated well and you do not clean teeth thoroughly before bleaching, the results will be limited.
In addition, when doing self-cleaning at home, for safety, you cannot use high-concentration gels like when having bleaching at the clinic (15% compared to 35% or more - bleaching at the clinic), so it is necessary to spend more time to get results.
So which way is best? I often advise my patients to get their teeth bleached at the clinic first, and then make an additional set of at-home bleaching trays to maintain, or enhance during important events! That way, you will get the best possible results!
